Join the “Play Hour”

On June 11, 2025, 290,000 children from 94 cities in the International Association of Educating Cities, across seven countries, celebrated the International Day of Play by taking part in the “Play Hour” initiative. It was a memorable moment that highlighted the commitment of Educating Cities to promoting play as a fundamental right of children and citizens.

This year, Torres Vedras once again invites all IAEC cities to join the event on June 11, between 10:00 and 12:00. The initiative aims to emphasize the importance of play in the lives of children and all of us, encouraging outdoor free play, whether in school settings or in other public spaces that allow contact with nature.

In this 2026 edition, we encourage you to participate again and extend the activity to the senior population, convinced that intergenerational exchange will enrich the experience.

As in previous years, a video will be produced featuring images from all participating cities.
