Barcelona hosts a meeting of the “Educating City, Playful City in Power: Creative, Civic and Community (C3)” Network

On July 2 and 3, 2026, Barcelona hosted a meeting of the Thematic Network coordinated by the city of Lleida , which brought together representatives from 20 cities in Spain to delve deeper into the community perspective of urban educational and recreational policies.

The program included visits to several urban transformation projects in Barcelona, such as the Open Patio and the Transformed Patio of the Torrent de Can Carabassa School, the Parc de les Glòries, the 0-99 Play Space and the Cristòbal de Moura Green Axis – Ca l’Alier, examples of spaces that promote play, coexistence and the inclusive use of public space.

The meeting also served to share experiences, results and learnings among the participating cities, as well as to advance in the definition of a common roadmap to build more educating, inclusive and community-oriented cities. The session closed with a joint evaluation and the will to continue working in a network to place play, education and community at the center of public policies.
