City of the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona, located on the north-western side of the Collserola mountain range. The city is planned around an old center and several residential areas. The main economic activity is services and industry. Among its historic heritage it is worth mentioning the Monastery of Sant Cugat, a Benedictine Abbey built over the remain of an old Roman Fortress.
