Catalan city of the metropolitan area of Girona, North-eastern Spain. The reduced surface of the city, 6,47 km2, is located on the right bank of the river Ter. Since 1960, the city lived an economic and demographic boom associated to the emergence of the several textile industries. The economy of the city is nowadays linked to services and trade.
