Les Franqueses del Vallès

Les Franqueses del Vallès is a municipality in the province of Barcelona with approximately 20,000 inhabitants. Its name derives from “franquicies,” a privilege granted in 1025 by Count Berenguer Ramon I to the settlers, granting them free possession of property. Today, it boasts a diversified economy, with chemical, metallurgical, and textile industries, as well as services and logistics, all benefiting from its strategic location. Even so, 85% of the land is preserved as green space, agricultural land, or forest. Culturally, it is known for its popular festivals and local traditions.
