Lagoa

City of the Southern coast of the Island of São Miguel; one of the islands of the region of the Azores, a Portuguese Island chain placed in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. The city occupies a surface of 45,57 km² of fertile soils used in tropical fruit growth. The city has also economic activity focused on cattle and pork stockbreeding and on industry. Along this line, it is worth mentioning that Lagoa is renowned for its glazed pottery. The services related to tourism are currently growing fast.
