The municipal Crusade for Literacy seeks to reduce illiteracy in people over 15 years of age through government and social collaboration, with the objective of educating 4,500 people and supporting basic education.

In order to foster the human values, lectures, recreational-interactive workshops, forums, marches and cultural events are carried out during a week. Schools, families and the society in general participate in the initiative.

The León City Council implemented a battery collection program to prevent improper disposal, promote recycling and reuse, and promote environmental awareness through education and dissemination campaigns.

The objective of this project is to foster the reading and bring the new information technologies closer to the population in general, but especially to the most vulnerable layers of society, which lack these services.

The Municipal Government of León organizes workshops in libraries during the summer, promoting reading and creativity. This program strengthens comprehensive education and improves the well-being of the community.

With this initiative it is expected that schools include environment education for sustainable development in their curricular content, and the schools that meet the required criteria will be given the certificate made up of a flag as recognition for their work.

Students at various educational levels became involved in fostering positive actions to care for public spaces, in order to contribute to the construction of a more orderly, cleaner, more sustainable and safer city.

The project was created with the aim of providing girls and women of all ages in León with tools that foster their autonomy and allow them to take ownership of public spaces. It also aims to promote the use of the bicycle as a clean, efficient and healthy means of transport.
