The city of Palamós is situated on the Mediterranean coast in the Autonomous Community of Catalonia. It has a surface of 14 km2 and a population of 17,830 inhabitants. The city has the third most important port of Catalonia. Although originally the city’s main economic activities were connected to fishing and light industry, over the last few years tourism has generated a great deal of commercial, hotel and restaurant activity.
