Osijek

Croatian City located at the right bankside of the river Drava 25km up the confluence with the Danube and thus not so far from the border with Serbia. Osijek is the economic and cultural capital of the Croatian region of Slavonia. The city has a powerful industry, specifically focused on Chemicals, and is the main regional centre of food processing. The city has become a national tourist and gastronomic hub as a result of its rich cultural and historic heritage. Among its monuments, it is worth mentioning the Tvrđa (fortress) built in the 17th century by the Royal House of Habsburg.
