Bilbao is located in the province of Biscay (Basque Country), on the Eastern Atlantic slope of the Iberian Peninsula. It covers an area of 42 km2 and has a population of 350,000 inhabitants.
The city has an economic past based on the heavy industry but at present the services sector is the main economic sector of the city.
