The activity guide<\/a> for the celebration of the 2026 International Educating City Day <\/strong>is now available. The International Association of Educating Cities invites you to organize campaigns and awareness-raising actions linked to this year’s motto: “Fostering critical thinking, democratic values \u200b\u200band fighting against disinformation”<\/strong> . Specifically, it proposes a series of common activities, such as the exhibition in public spaces of panels that invite reflection on fake news and participation in an online event, on November 26 at 1 pm CET<\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Given that it is not always easy to distinguish between accurate information and fake news,<\/em> local governments have the urgent challenge of strengthening the critical skills of citizens by providing them with the skills to analyze and verify information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The guide also recalls that, according to the Charter of Educating Cities<\/strong> , \u201cthe cultivation of language and critical thinking [\u2026] is increasingly important to prevent citizens from easily accepting stigmatizing stereotypes\u201d<\/em> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
