{"id":81239,"date":"2026-06-29T17:23:21","date_gmt":"2026-06-29T15:23:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/edcities.whads.com\/news\/brasil-marca-presenca-no-xviii-congresso-internacional-de-cidades-educadoras\/"},"modified":"2026-07-02T13:29:27","modified_gmt":"2026-07-02T11:29:27","slug":"brasil-marca-presenca-no-xviii-congresso-internacional-de-cidades-educadoras","status":"publish","type":"edc_news","link":"https:\/\/edcities.whads.com\/en\/news\/brasil-marca-presenca-no-xviii-congresso-internacional-de-cidades-educadoras\/","title":{"rendered":"Brazil Participates in the 18th International Congress of Educating Cities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From May 26 to 29, the city of Granollers, Spain, hosted the <a href=\"https:\/\/edcities.whads.com\/en\/congresses\/granollers-2026\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/edcities.whads.com\/es\/congresos\/granollers-2026\/\">18th International Congress of Educating Cities<\/a> under the theme <strong>\u201cEducation and Culture in the City: Community, Critical Thinking, and Creativity.\u201d<\/strong> Over the course of four days, internationally renowned figures, public officials, experts, and social organizations exchanged experiences and discussed the role of cities as spaces capable of strengthening social cohesion, expanding citizen participation, and promoting more inclusive communities. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Latin American participation carried significant weight, with innovative initiatives presented by municipalities in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Uruguay. On that occasion, projects from <strong>S\u00e3o Paulo<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/bidce.org\/en\/experience\/745\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/bidce.org\/pt\/experiencia\/745\">\u201cGuardi\u00e3s da Alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o\u201d and \u201cBusca Ativa Escolar\u201d<\/a>) and <strong>Passo Fundo<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/bidce.org\/en\/experience\/748\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/bidce.org\/pt\/experiencia\/748\">\u201cEscola das Profiss\u00f5es\u201d<\/a>) were also recognized at the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/edcities.whads.com\/en\/educating-cities-award\/2026-award\/\">2026 Educating Cities Award<\/a><\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/edcities.whads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Informe-Congreso-Granollers-2026.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">full report<\/a><\/strong> is now available for review and underscores the region\u2019s growing leadership role in building cities that are more democratic, creative, and committed to lifelong learning.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":81240,"template":"","edc_news_cat":[1862,2333,2114],"edc_news_tag":[],"edc_minisite":[],"class_list":["post-81239","edc_news","type-edc_news","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","edc_news_cat-congressos","edc_news_cat-granollers-2026-4","edc_news_cat-redes-2"],"acf":{"edcities_scope":["network"],"edcities_related_city":null,"edcities_related_network":[19493],"edcities_related_minisite":false},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.7 -
