{"id":56654,"date":"2026-04-23T10:34:28","date_gmt":"2026-04-23T08:34:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/edcities.whads.com\/news\/feliz-dia-del-libro-2026\/"},"modified":"2026-05-03T06:28:01","modified_gmt":"2026-05-03T04:28:01","slug":"feliz-dia-del-libro-2026","status":"publish","type":"edc_news","link":"https:\/\/edcities.whads.com\/en\/news\/feliz-dia-del-libro-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"Happy International Book Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today we celebrate the<strong> International Book Day<\/strong>, and from the International Association of Educating Cities we highlight several initiatives developed by cities in the network to foster reading and facilitate access to culture:<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/bidce.org\/en\/experience\/730\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Boral\u00ea\u00a0Reading Incentive Programme<\/a>, <\/strong>in\u00a0<strong>Passo Fundo<\/strong>, encourages reading habits among students in the municipal school network through actions that include the acquisition of books as well as literary experiences in different cultural spaces across the city.<\/li>\n<li>In <strong>Esplugues de Llobregat<\/strong>,\u00a0a significant intervention is carried out through school libraries to improve reading comprehension and contribute to the educational success of all students with the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/proposals.bidce.org\/es\/XVII-Encuentro-RECE\/108\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Reading Promotion and Support Project<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Since 1994 the municipality of <strong>Nova Petr\u00f3polis<\/strong> has implemented an <a href=\"https:\/\/bidce.org\/en\/experience\/123\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>annual program<\/strong><\/a> with different initiatives aimed at all audiences.
