{"id":56650,"date":"2026-03-27T11:15:50","date_gmt":"2026-03-27T10:15:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/edcities.whads.com\/news\/la-asamblea-general-de-la-aice-aprueba-el-plan-de-accion-para-2026\/"},"modified":"2026-05-03T06:28:00","modified_gmt":"2026-05-03T04:28:00","slug":"la-asamblea-general-de-la-aice-aprueba-el-plan-de-accion-para-2026","status":"publish","type":"edc_news","link":"https:\/\/edcities.whads.com\/en\/news\/la-asamblea-general-de-la-aice-aprueba-el-plan-de-accion-para-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"IAEC General Assembly approves the 2026 Action Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On 26 March, IAEC held its Ordinary <strong>General Assembly<\/strong>, which brought together nearly 140 representatives from member cities in a virtual format.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Assembly opened with a lecture by Dr. <strong>Karina Gibert<\/strong>, Professor at the Universitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Catalunya, titled <em>\u201cEducation 5.0: The Disruptive Transformation of AI\u201d<\/em>, which will soon be available on our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/EducatingCities\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">YouTube channel<\/a>.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the key ideas highlighted in her presentation were:<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The transformative impact of AI on formal education<\/li>\n<li>The need for new assessment methods<\/li>\n<li>The importance of developing digital skills from an early age<\/li>\n<li>The urgency of addressing gender bias in technological fields<\/li>\n<li>The role of AI in informed decision-making and ethical public administration.<\/li>\n<\/ul><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the second part of the Assembly, the incorporation of new member cities was approved: <strong>Despe\u00f1aderos, Gualeguaych\u00fa, San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca, Benevides, Jaguari, Santa Maria, Zamora, Camas, Lal\u00edn, Trofa and Seoul<\/strong>, to whom we extend a warm welcome.
